Publisher ESDigital Games and developer Dark Pigeon Games have announced that Awaken – Astral Blade will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch later this year. The expansion follows the game’s well-received release on PlayStation 5 and PC, where it’s earned praise for its fast-paced combat, atmospheric world, and striking visual design.
Demo Available Now via ID@Xbox Indie Selects
As part of ID@Xbox Indie Selects Demo Fest, Xbox players can already try a slice of Awaken – Astral Blade until September 30, 2025. The demo gives fans a first look at protagonist Tania’s combat abilities, movement, and the dangers lurking in the Horace Islands.
A Journey Into Mystery and Mutation
In Awaken – Astral Blade, players step into the role of Tania, a bionic soldier sent to investigate the disappearance of a research team in the mysterious Horace Islands. There, she uncovers the truth behind the deadly Karpas energy, which has mutated plants and animals into monstrous threats.
Exploring the ruins of Jacha City and the ancient Royal Altar, Tania faces perilous foes while unraveling the secrets of her own origins. Players can expect multiple story routes, branching endings, and a combat system built around combos, parries, and skill customization.
Award-Winning Origins
The game is part of Sony Interactive Entertainment Shanghai’s China Hero Project, a program that highlights rising talent in Chinese development. It also won “Best in Play” at GDC 2024, solidifying its place as one of the most promising indie action-adventures to emerge in recent years.

Awaken – Astral Blade is available now for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. A special physical Tania’s Edition is also available across European retailers. The upcoming console versions are slated to release later in 2025.
