Blindflug Studios is keeping its momentum strong with the first major update for Ground of Aces, its WWII-inspired base-building strategy game. The Scramble!! update, live now, delivers the biggest set of content additions yet, introducing plane scrambling, ammunition management, crew stats, training, and fortified structures. To celebrate, the game is also available at a 20% discount on Steam, its steepest sale since launch.
Since entering Early Access this summer, Ground of Aces has quickly become one of the season’s breakout WWII strategy titles. Players have been drawn to its unusual mix of base-builder freedom and historical aviation detail, wrapped in an art style inspired by Franco-Belgian comic books like Biggles and Tintin.
What’s in the Scramble!! Update
The Scramble!! patch aims to deepen both the strategic and survival aspects of the game:
- Plane Scrambling: Decide which aircraft take to the skies when the alarm sounds, either sending fighters to defend the base or protecting bombers by pulling them back.
- Ammo Management: Ammunition now powers planes and defensive structures, making logistics and storage vital for survival.
- Air Crew Stats: Every crew member comes with six unique stats that grow with each mission.
- Air Crew Training: Training facilities can now be built to develop your crews outside of battle.
- Concrete Bunkers: Tough new defensive structures offer protection against bombing raids.
