Singularity 6 has revealed the Of Barns & Briars update for Palia, bringing one of the game’s most requested features: ranching. The update launches alongside the studio’s new seasonal update cadence, starting with autumn’s “Fall Fantasy” theme. Going forward, Palians can expect larger updates tied to real-world seasons, with winter’s update already teased for later this year.
New Features in Of Barns & Briars
The highlight of the update is the Ranching skill, which allows players to raise magical livestock like Pekis, Ormuus, Bumbles, and Trufflets. These animals can inherit traits across generations, making every ranch feel unique. Completing County Fair Quests unlocks the new Rancher’s Decor Recipe Starter Pack, featuring cozy additions like barn doors, hay stacks, and apple barrels.
Housing customization also gets a major upgrade with Home Lines, modular systems that let players design dream homes with more creative freedom. The debut Home Line, the Alchemist’s Cottage, channels spooky fairytale vibes and introduces multi-level building and open-air patio options.
More Quests, Friends, and Collectibles
The update expands Palia’s story and social side with a new friendship questline centered on the Gardener, a long-time resident of the Earth Temple. Over 200 new rotating daily quests have also been added, rewarding players with Tailor Tickets to unlock new cosmetic options like hair and makeup colors.
On top of that, Palians can look forward to brand-new plushies, including the Duskwing Butterfly Plush and XL Shark Fin Plush, plus 10 new Shiny Potato Pods.
