Epictellers Entertainment and Paizo have unveiled the first two companions that players will meet in Starfinder: Afterlight: Tycho and Kole. These characters showcase the game’s blend of sci-fi adventuring and deep personal storytelling.
Kole, a Soldier, defied the expectations of his military family to chase a larger-than-life dream of becoming an action movie hero. On the other hand, Tycho, an Operative, is a talented inventor whose trust issues and guarded personality stem from a past riddled with deception. Together, they set the tone for the kind of flawed but compelling companions that players will encounter as they journey through the galaxy.
A teaser trailer featuring Tycho and Kole is now available, giving fans a first look at how these two characters fit into the game’s narrative.
Neil Newbon Takes the Helm as Voice Director
The announcement also confirmed that Neil Newbon, best known for his work on Baldur’s Gate 3 and Resident Evil Village, will serve as voice director for Starfinder: Afterlight. Newbon will oversee casting and performance direction to ensure every voice fits the game’s ambitious storytelling.
Voice actor Inel Tomlinson (Dragon Age, Final Fantasy XVI) has been cast as Tycho, while Fred Tatasciore (Mass Effect, Overwatch, Marvel Rivals) brings his signature power to the role of Kole.
Kickstarter Campaign Coming This October
Starfinder: Afterlight is a story-rich, turn-based RPG set in Paizo’s beloved Starfinder universe and built on the Second Edition rules. Players step into the role of a spacefarer navigating a galaxy on the brink of annihilation after the mysterious disappearance of their captain. The journey is fueled by magic, advanced technology, and morally complex decisions that shape the fate of the universe.
The game launches its Kickstarter campaign this October, with an Early Access release on PC via Steam planned for next year. Fans can wishlist the game on Steam and sign up for updates from Epictellers Entertainment ahead of the crowdfunding launch.
