Town to City Launches in Early Access on Steam, A Cozy City Builder from Galaxy Grove

Kwalee and independent developer Galaxy Grove have officially launched Town to City in Early Access on PC via Steam. From the team behind Station to Station, this cozy, creative citybuilder lets players transform a quiet settlement into a thriving 19th-century community.

Building Without Boundaries

Unlike traditional grid-based builders, Town to City gives players the freedom to place roads, houses, shops, gardens, and monuments wherever they like. Whether you want neatly organized districts or organic, winding neighborhoods, the game supports both playstyles.

The Early Access version includes:

  • A story-driven campaign with two maps
  • Sandbox mode with five maps
  • Eight city stages and six monuments
  • Over 30 quests to complete

A Growing Town, A Growing Story

Players can progress through the story-driven campaign or take a more relaxed approach in sandbox mode, shaping their towns at their own pace. Each decision impacts resident happiness, economic development, and the overall look and feel of the town.

In addition, Town to City emphasizes personalization, offering custom lighting, decorative options, parks, and plazas. With its voxel-inspired visuals and built-in photo mode, players are encouraged to capture and share their creations.

Developer Vision

Joost van Dongen, Game Director of Town to City, spoke about the launch:

“The creativity shown by our demo and beta players has been truly inspiring, and with the community’s feedback we’ve made the game even better. I can’t wait to see what players will build when the game is out, and to keep improving it together!”
