Luski Game Studio, in partnership with Nuuvem, has announced that Capote!, a new multiplayer card game inspired by classic Brazilian bar games, will arrive on Steam Early Access on October 23rd. The game aims to capture the laid-back, chaotic charm of Brazilian pub culture, mixing wits, bluffing, and luck with a dash of unpredictability.
A Virtual Trip to a Brazilian Bar
In Capote!, 2–6 players gather in a sweaty, sunlit Brazilian bar where every round could turn the tide. At the start of each match, players bet on how many points they’ll score, then play their cards in hopes of hitting that exact number. Fall short or overshoot, and you’ll take a virtual “shot” for each point you miss by. Rack up four shots and you’re Capotado! Out of the game.
Special Cards, Big Laughs
Luck isn’t everything in Capote! Players can mess with each other using special cards to sabotage bets, shift momentum, or turn a perfect play into a disaster. Winning is fun, but seeing your friends fall victim to chaos is even better. The game blends strategy with lighthearted competition, making it approachable for newcomers while offering depth for more seasoned players.
Celebrating Brazilian Bar Culture
“Capote! is a multiplayer card game, but it’s not just a multiplayer card game; it’s a celebration of Brazilian bar culture,” said Gabriel Guedes, Game Designer at Luski Game Studio. He compared the game’s roots in Trucco, a popular Brazilian card game, to the ubiquity of poker elsewhere in the world. From the colorful characters to the local music on the radio, Capote! aims to give players the feeling of a casual afternoon at a lively Brazilian pub—without the hangover.
When Can You Play?
Capote! will launch in Steam Early Access on October 23, 2025. Players can check out the game’s trailer now and wishlist it ahead of release.
