Independent developer Team Soda and publisher Bilibili Game announced that their offbeat survival RPG, Escape From Duckov, has surpassed 1 million copies sold across PC and Mac just five days after launch.
Since its debut on October 16, Escape From Duckov has made a massive splash in the gaming pond, earning an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam and peaking at 221,963 concurrent players, ranking it as one of Steam’s top 100 most-played games of all time. Players can still grab the game for 12% off until October 30.
“Team Soda is incredibly humbled to have reached such heights, and we owe this success to an incredible community of players and our friends at Bilibili Game,” said Jeff Chen, producer at Team Soda. “Whether you’ve been with us since the demo days or just joined to see what all the quacking’s about, thank you.”
A Wildly Original Survival RPG
Escape From Duckov is a single-player, top-down PvE survival RPG set in a mysterious egg-shaped world teetering on collapse. Players customize their own duck hero and fight to escape the planet by building a rocket ship while fending off cartoonish enemies, scavenging loot, and uncovering secrets hidden beneath the fog of war.
The game blends base-building, weapon crafting, and in-depth progression systems to create endless replayability all wrapped in a charming, tongue-in-beak art style.
Adding to the fun, the developers recently introduced full mod support, allowing the community to expand and remix Duckov’s world in wild new ways.
