Blumhouse Games is marking the first anniversary of its debut title, Fear the Spotlight, with a trio of major announcements that expand the game’s haunting legacy. Developed by indie studio Cozy Game Pals, the acclaimed coming-of-age survival horror experience was first released in 2024, and this Halloween season, fans have three new ways to step back into the dark.
iam8bit Brings Fear the Spotlight to PlayStation 5
For collectors and horror fans, iam8bit is releasing Fear the Spotlight’s first-ever physical edition for PlayStation 5. Both a retail version and an iam8bit Exclusive Edition are now available for pre-order for $24.99.
The iam8bit Exclusive Edition includes a bonus 12” x 18” poster and a special O-Sleeve designed to make the game stand out in any horror collection. In contrast, the standard retail edition will include the same commemorative poster. Orders are expected to ship March 13, 2026, and pre-orders are open now via iam8bit.com and participating retailers.
Asgard Books Expands the Story in a Graphic Novel
In partnership with Asgard Books, an imprint of GUNGNIR Books, Blumhouse Games is expanding Fear the Spotlight’s chilling universe through a new graphic novel. Written by Patricia Villeto (Sonic Prime, Ben 10) and illustrated by Claudia Leonardi (Life Is Strange graphic novel series), the story follows protagonists Vivian and Amy as they’re transported back in time to solve a terrifying new mystery at a haunted farm.
The project will debut on Kickstarter in early 2026, and fans can already follow the pre-launch page to stay updated.
Free on Epic Games Store for a Limited Time
Starting October 23, PC players can download Fear the Spotlight for free via the Epic Games Store, giving new players the perfect opportunity to experience its eerie halls, emotional storytelling, and retro-inspired horror just in time for Halloween.
With these new collaborations, Fear the Spotlight continues to grow beyond its roots as a small indie hit, cementing its place as one of modern horror gaming’s most heartfelt and haunting success stories.
