The Little Corners demo was positively adorable and reminded me much of my childhood. Those little books where there was a model and then you could peel off stickers to dress them. It was exactly like that, but instead, you’re building a room.
Little Corners is very cute and resembles coloring books that have become popular in recent months. I was very happy that I had two different rooms to choose from, and some of the stickers were downright adorable. First up was the Alchemist’s room, and I was excited to put together my little box full of clutter. A pillar there, a bookcase here, and it was looking amazing.
The variety and amount of stickers you get to play with were impressive to me. Especially since some of them were such minuscule details that you could add to the room, almost like little secrets for those who examine it, I liked that there were no consequences for your decorating style. It was entirely up to you how you assembled the room.
Little Corners Features Lo-Fi Vibes and Cozy Design
My only gripe with Little Corners was that sometimes, the hand that picked up the sticker was so big that I couldn’t actually see what I was picking up or trying to put down. This often led to misplaced stickers or me having to search the room like it was a Spot the Difference, trying to find where the hell I’d placed the sticker. I’d have liked an option to customize the hand, so that it can be smaller or bigger, or even have alternative cursors available, to make the demo a bit more accessible.
While I was taking my time to assemble this adorable room, I listened to some lo-fi music from the demo, with the option to change and choose what song I was listening to. It made for a very peaceful experience, and really helped mellow me out for the evening.
Overall, Little Corners was a lot of fun, and a lot of love went into creating it. However, because of how the game plays, it doesn’t feel too substantial to me. I could see myself playing the full release, but I don’t expect it to have a long play time, as you only have a set number of stickers to play with and a limited number of rooms to decorate.
I look forward to seeing what other rooms are available and how the hidden stickers will come into play, as the menu mentioned they were ‘coming soon.’
