Coin Drop Games and Glootschke Games have released a brand-new demo for their upcoming meta puzzle RPG, The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time. The game — yes, that’s really the title — is set to launch in early 2026 on Steam, but players can already dive into its strange and self-aware mystery today.
Billed as a deduction puzzle game disguised as a JRPG, The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time (or TRotEotGRPGoAT for short) presents the final hour of a “lost” classic RPG that never actually existed. Reimagined in stylish 3D pixel art, the game includes everything from a digital manual to director’s commentary and even full-motion video, all contributing to its elaborate illusion of authenticity.
The demo offers a glimpse into the game’s nonlinear storytelling, offbeat humor, and meta puzzles. Players drop in at level 99, surrounded by characters they’ve never met and story arcs they’ve never seen, forced to piece together what’s happening, why this “remake” exists, and what’s hidden behind the game’s bizarre premise.
“I’ve always loved making games that mess around with genre,” said Lead Designer Lucas Immanuel. “This project continually surprises players on gameplay, storytelling, and aesthetic levels. It’s a deduction game, an RPG, and a narrative rabbit hole exploring our relationship with games and the creative process.”
