Developer Double Stallion has opened the floodgates for the Surfpunk playtest, running now through November 9th on Steam. This 1–4 player co-op action RPG blends high-octane combat with laid-back, surf-inspired style, creating a unique world where teamwork, creativity, and chaos collide.
Set after a global cataclysm that drowned ancient cities beneath rising seas, Surfpunk takes place across the tropical ruins of The Fallen World. Here, resources are scarce, and a mysterious otherworldly force known as The Sumi threatens all survivors. As members of The Raiders, players embody radical surfer-pirates who scavenge submerged metropolises for treasure, face waves of enemies, and celebrate camaraderie in the face of endless adversity.
High-Speed Co-Op Action with Radical Style
In Surfpunk, up to four players team up online to explore procedurally generated islands, gather loot, and fend off swarms of monsters before escaping atop a towering tsunami wave. Whether shredding solo or working as a team, every session offers a blend of exploration, combat, and extraction that rewards both skill and spontaneity.
Players can choose from four distinct weapon classes:
- Sword — A balanced melee class that heals through aggression.
- Dual Pistols — Agile, acrobatic, and explosive.
- Anchor & Chain — A heavy-hitting class built for crowd control.
- Guitar — A rhythm-based support weapon that buffs allies and disrupts foes.
Between runs, players can craft gadgets on the fly, building ladders, traps, and tools to navigate environments or outsmart enemies. But time is never on your side, the longer you linger, the deadlier The Sumi becomes. When the ocean starts to rise, only those who can surf the tsunami will make it home.
An Ever-Changing Ocean of Adventure
Each expedition in Surfpunk is a dive into discovery. From scavenging treasures in coral-covered skyscrapers to surfing the waves that end your mission, every quest unfolds differently thanks to the game’s procedurally generated world.
The playtest is live now and runs from November 7 at 12:00 PM PST to November 10 at 6:00 AM PST. Players can request access directly from the game’s Steam page and experience the radical blend of action, teamwork, and surf culture that defines Surfpunk.
