KochiKame: Ryo-san’s Billion-yen Beat Announced, Celebrating 50 Years of the Classic Manga

Shueisha Games and Kairosoft have officially announced KochiKame: Ryo-san’s Billion-yen Beat, a new pixel art simulation game inspired by the legendary manga series Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo, better known as KochiKame. Revealed at Jump Festa 2026, the game marks the franchise’s 50th anniversary with a charming management experience built around one of Japan’s most iconic characters.

The new title brings Officer Ryotsu Kankichi into the world of Kairosoft-style simulations, blending the studio’s familiar management gameplay with the humor and chaos that have defined KochiKame for decades.

A Get-Rich-Quick Simulation with Ryotsu at the Center

In KochiKame: Ryo-san’s Billion-yen Beat, players help Ryotsu revive a struggling shopping district while chasing his ultimate goal: earning one billion yen. Starting from humble beginnings, players earn seed money through part-time jobs and gambling, then reinvest their profits into shops and facilities that drive the district’s growth.

As the area becomes more prosperous, customer traffic increases and revenue soars. However, players will need to stay on their toes, as Ryotsu’s questionable work ethic can still land him in trouble with the Chief.

Packed with Characters and Classic KochiKame Moments

The game features an expansive cast of over 200 characters, including the entire police box crew and numerous familiar faces from the long-running manga. As the shopping district develops, players unlock classic episodes and story events, presented through mini-games that recreate memorable moments from the series.

Visually, KochiKame: Ryo-san’s Billion-yen Beat reimagines the manga’s world using Kairosoft’s signature pixel art style, delivering a nostalgic yet playful presentation that fans of both the studio and the series will immediately recognize.
