Simogo, the acclaimed studio behind Sayonara Wild Hearts and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, is celebrating its 15th anniversary with the release of the Simogo Legacy Collection, an expansive compilation of the team’s early mobile-era work. The collection is now available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam, launching with a 15% discount that brings the price down to $14.99.
Seven Restored Classics From Simogo’s Early Years
The Simogo Legacy Collection preserves seven of the studio’s mobile titles released between 2010 and 2015, each faithfully rebuilt for modern hardware. The lineup includes Kosmo Spin (2010), the studio’s whimsical debut arcade game originally released exactly 15 years ago to the day; Bumpy Road (2011), a charming yet surprisingly emotional endless auto-scroller; and Beat Sneak Bandit (2012), the award-winning rhythm–stealth hybrid that earned a 92 on Metacritic along with IGF and BAFTA accolades.
The collection also features Year Walk (2013) along with its companion app a beloved Swedish folklore mystery recognized with multiple award nominations; the critically acclaimed text-driven thriller DEVICE 6 (2013), winner of both an Apple Design Award and an IGF award; SPL-T (2015), a deceptively simple but endlessly replayable block-splitting puzzle game; and The Sailor’s Dream (2014), a meditative narrative experience that unfolds in sync with real-world time.
Bonus Materials and Behind-the-Scenes History
Beyond the seven core games, the compilation includes a curated museum of Simogo extras and historical artifacts. Players can enjoy the Year Walk Bedtime Stories for Awful Children e-book, the Lighthouse Painting audio drama podcast, an archive of illustrations, a selection of soundtrack tracks including previously unreleased music, and a collection of playable prototypes such as the early versions of Year Walk, Bumpy Road, Rollovski, and the short story experiment The Sensational December Machine.
Enhanced Features for Nintendo Switch 2
Players who own the Nintendo Switch version will receive the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for free. The upgraded version takes advantage of the console’s hardware with:
- Joy-Con 2 mouse-style control support
- 120fps at 1080p in handheld mode
- 120fps at 1440p or 60fps in 4K when docked
Preserving a Moment in Gaming History
In a joint statement, Simogo co-founders Magnus “Gordon” Gardebäck and Simon Flesser emphasized the importance of preserving their early catalog. Gardebäck reflected on the decade-long conversation about archiving these works, expressing excitement that new audiences can now explore a piece of Simogo’s history. Flesser added that the collection serves both as a time capsule for a rapidly evolving era of mobile gaming and as a personal milestone for the studio, ensuring the memories and creative efforts of the original team remain accessible.
