Clear River Games and City Connection have officially announced WiZmans World Re;Try, an HD remaster of the 2010 Japan-exclusive JRPG WiZman’s World. Originally released on the Nintendo DS, the cult classic is returning for a global audience in early 2026 on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Steam—complete with upgraded visuals, modern quality-of-life features, and its signature blend of tactical combat and monster fusion.
A Lost JRPG Returns with a New Coat of Pixel-Art Polish
The original WiZman’s World never made it outside Japan, but its dark, alchemic world and monster-girl fusion system gained underground acclaim. Re;Try brings the entire experience forward with:
- Enhanced HD 2D pixel-art graphics
- Remastered and rearranged soundtrack
- Updated sound design and UI enhancements
- Additional language support for a global launch
The remaster aims to preserve the look and feel of the DS original while modernizing it for today’s hardware.
A Wizard, Three Homunculi, and a Century-Long Mystery
Players step into the role of Claus, a young wizard whose coming-of-age quest turns into a desperate search for his missing mentor, Giselle, a prodigy alchemist who vanished in the labyrinthine dungeons beneath the isolated city of Wizarest.
For over a hundred years, the city has been sealed off from the rest of the world, its residents afflicted by amnesia and surrounded by hostile, twisting dungeons. Claus, along with the three magical artificial beings left behind by Giselle, must uncover:
- The source of Wizarest’s century-long isolation
- The truth behind the city’s shared memory loss
- The mysteries surrounding Giselle’s disappearance
- The dark force driving the world toward decay
Every choice affects Claus’s relationships, the narrative, and the fate of Wizarest itself.
Tactical Combat and Monster Fusion Return
WiZmans World Re;Try features turn-based battles where chain attacks, attributes, and team synergy drive its tactical depth. The game’s signature mechanic, Anima Fusion, allows Claus’s homunculi companions to absorb the souls of defeated monsters and evolve, altering their stats, abilities, and even appearance.
Players can expect:
- Turn-based JRPG combat
- Deep monster fusion system
- Multiple storyline outcomes shaped by player decisions
- A robust New Game+ mode
- Save-anywhere functionality
- Dialogue skipping and streamlined progression tools
- A fully updated Monster Encyclopaedia
And yes—all the monster girls you’d ever want to fuse.
About the Music
The remaster includes rearranged and newly added tracks from soLi, a Japanese duo composed of guitarist ISAO and violinist Saori Hoshino, both celebrated for their expressive and technically impressive performances.
Coming Early 2026
For the first time, this once-obscure JRPG is finally getting its chance to reach fans worldwide. WiZmans World Re;Try launches on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Steam in early 2026.
Players can wishlist the game now on Steam.
