Umami Grove Brings Cozy Open-World VR Cooking Adventure to PSVR2 This January

Pomshine Games and publisher DANGEN Entertainment have announced that Umami Grove, the cozy open-world VR cooking adventure, is officially coming to PlayStation VR2 on January 27, 2026. After finding success on PC VR and standalone platforms in 2025, the charming title is ready to bring its tactile, physics-driven gameplay to PlayStation players.

Designed around hands-on interaction and expressive movement, Umami Grove’s PSVR2 release promises an immersive culinary journey filled with exploration, playful challenges, and acorn-shaped rewards.

A Hands-On Culinary Adventure Built for VR

At its core, Umami Grove is all about using your own hands. Players climb trees, chop ingredients, throw objects, and cook meals entirely through physics-based interactions. The game’s robust locomotion system allows for jumping, swinging, ducking, and climbing through its colorful environments, making movement feel as joyful as the cooking itself.

Set in a lush open world inspired by changing seasons, Umami Grove encourages experimentation. If you see a mushroom on a table, you can cut it. If there’s a tree nearby, you can climb it and grab apples. Even tossing a fish at a problem might work, though the game is happy to let players find out the hard way.

Meet Quirky Characters and Cook With Purpose

Throughout the world, players will encounter a lovable cast of NPCs who need help in all sorts of ways. Some requests are simple, like cooking a meal or gathering ingredients, while others are more unusual, like helping someone back to bed or trying not to break their belongings in the process.

Completing tasks and overcoming challenges earns players gold, conveniently shaped like acorns. As the mystery of these acorns unfolds, players will continue honing their cooking skills and uncovering the secrets of Umami Grove’s cozy universe.

A Natural Fit for PlayStation VR2

With its emphasis on intuitive controls, expressive movement, and tactile interaction, Umami Grove feels especially well-suited for PSVR2. The platform’s advanced motion tracking and immersive features are set to enhance the game’s already physical approach to exploration and cooking, making every chop, climb, and toss feel natural.

Umami Grove arrives on PlayStation VR2 on January 27, 2026, offering a relaxing yet playful VR experience for players looking to explore, cook, and unwind in a whimsical open world.
