Square Enix confirmed that players can now pre-register via the App Store and Google Play. The game is scheduled to launch in 2026 as a free-to-play title.
Alongside the announcement, the team released the opening cinematic. It shows iconic warriors from the Final Fantasy series living normal lives in modern-day Tokyo. That calm breaks when a Behemoth appears in Ginza, forcing the heroes to regroup and defend the city.
3v3 Boss Battle Arena Combat
Final Fantasy characters return in a new format. In Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, two teams of three compete in boss-focused arena matches. Both sides fight roaming monsters and race to defeat a central boss faster than their opponents.
Combat uses simple controls designed for one-handed play on mobile. The presentation leans into cel-shaded visuals, giving returning heroes a sharp, stylized look.
The game also features a fully Japanese-voiced main story. Short side episodes highlight the characters’ daily lives outside of battle, while abilities are illustrated with artwork from a range of contributing artists.
Pre-Registration Celebration Campaign
Square Enix has launched a pre-registration celebration campaign tied to the game’s launch. Players who sign up can earn daily login rewards once the game goes live.
Confirmed bonuses include:
- Items equivalent to 40 Ability Draw pulls (20 Draw Tickets and 3000 MogPay Points)
- Eight background music tracks from past Dissidia titles
- Five Character Tickets to unlock fan-favorite warriors
In addition, a limited-time raffle giveaway is running on the official English X account. Fans who follow the account and repost designated giveaway posts during the campaign window can enter for a chance to win a “DDFF Opening Cinematic Art Clear File Folder.” Ten winners per day will be selected across the three-day campaign period.
A New Era for Dissidia on Mobile
Dissidia Final Fantasy has traditionally focused on arena-style combat featuring crossover heroes. Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy shifts that formula toward mobile-first 3v3 boss battles, competitive team play, and streamlined controls.
The game launches as a free-to-play title on iOS and Android in 2026. Pre-registration is available now.
