Winter Crew and CMD Studios have announced that Fallen Tear: The Ascension will launch in Steam Early Access on March 17, 2026. The hand-animated, story-driven sidescrolling Metroidvania revealed its release date during today’s Indie Fan Fest showcase.
A Journey Through Raoah
Players will explore the expansive world of Raoah as Hira, a young hero with a mysterious past. The narrative-focused adventure emphasizes character relationships and worldbuilding, blending traditional Metroidvania exploration with JRPG-inspired systems.
Throughout the journey, Hira can recruit allies who become part of the Fated Bonds system, a party-and-assist mechanic that allows companions to lend their unique abilities in combat and exploration. These bonds aim to add both emotional weight and strategic depth to progression.
15–20 Hours of Early Access Content
The Early Access build will feature 15–20 hours of gameplay across 10 interconnected regions. Players can challenge six main bosses and three optional bosses, uncovering secrets and expanding their abilities as they traverse Raoah’s diverse environments.
With its fluid hand-drawn animation, character-driven storytelling, and layered combat systems, Fallen Tear: The Ascension positions itself as a substantial Early Access offering for fans of the genre.
The game launches March 17, 2026, on PC via Steam Early Access.
