Calgary-based developer Neojac Entertainment has announced that Frontier Legends will launch into Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store this spring.
Before that, Frontier Legends will participate in Steam Horse Fest from February 19 through February 23, giving players the opportunity to wishlist the game ahead of a new demo arriving next month.
Carve Your Own Path in the Wild West
Frontier Legends drops players into an expansive open-world frontier as a greenhorn settler fresh off the train. From there, the path is entirely up to you. Become a hunter, trader, builder, bandit, lawman, or something in between as you work to survive and thrive in a living, evolving frontier.
Survival mechanics sit at the core of the experience. Players must manage essential needs while navigating dynamic weather, day-night cycles, dangerous wildlife, and unpredictable outlaws. Every journey beyond camp carries risk, and no two playthroughs unfold the same way thanks to unscripted encounters and evolving world systems.
Build, Lead, and Defend
A major pillar of Frontier Legends is settlement building. Players begin with a modest camp that can grow into a bustling frontier town shaped by their leadership. NPC settlers can be recruited and assigned daily tasks like farming, crafting, gathering, and defending the settlement.
Effective management ensures prosperity, while neglect can cause the harsh frontier to push back.
Horses, Co-Op, and High-Stakes Choices
Wild horses roam the land and can be tamed, trained, and ridden. Each mount features unique attributes, making them critical companions for exploration, survival, and escape when danger strikes.
Multiplayer options allow players to cooperate in building and trading or take a darker route through raids and betrayal. Community events and seasonal challenges will offer unique rewards and recognition for those who rise above the competition.
According to Founder and CEO Jacques Rossouw, Frontier Legends expands upon the studio’s survival roots seen in previous titles like Athos and Junk Survivor, shifting from isolated struggle to a dynamic, player-driven frontier ecosystem.
