Developer Drakkar Dev and publisher Blowfish Studios have announced that Mirage 7, a narrative-driven sci-fi action-adventure inspired by the tales of Arabian Nights, will launch on March 6, 2026. The game arrives on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
A Mythic Sci-Fi Journey Fueled by Loss and Hope
At the heart of Mirage 7 is Nadira, a determined young woman driven by grief and a desperate wish. Her journey unfolds across a hauntingly beautiful desert world where ancient myth and futuristic technology intertwine. Nadira searches for the lost Princess Taishma, the only figure capable of restoring her beloved sister’s life, forcing her to confront the limits of devotion and sacrifice.
The game blends a mythic narrative tone with sci-fi themes, weaving emotional storytelling into its sweeping environments and mysterious cast of characters.
Exploration, Puzzles, and Companionship
Players will traverse rolling seas of sand and explore forgotten ruins, piecing together long-buried secrets through environmental storytelling and puzzle-solving. Nadira is joined by Jiji, her loyal lizard companion, who plays a key role in navigating the world’s intricate environmental challenges.
Along the way, players gather resources to craft tools essential for survival, encouraging thoughtful exploration and experimentation as the desert’s mysteries slowly reveal themselves.
Combat and Customizable Challenge
While Mirage 7 emphasizes atmosphere and narrative, danger is ever-present. Nadira must defend herself using a simple dagger against massive insect enemies, while a precise slingshot is required to take down spectral warriors lurking among the ruins.
The experience can be tailored through three difficulty modes. Story mode offers additional puzzle hints for players focused on narrative, while Challenge mode ramps up enemy strength for those seeking a more demanding adventure.
Unraveling a Desert of Secrets
Inspired by the award-winning short story Miraggio, the world of Mirage 7 hides deeper truths behind its surreal beauty. Players will uncover the motives of the enigmatic Witch of Jala and the shadowy overseer Vizier, voiced by Andy Mack, known for his roles in Dying Light 2 and Chernobylite.
According to Drakkar Dev founder Manlio Greco, the narrative sits at the core of the experience, with every puzzle, location, and character designed to reinforce themes of courage, loss, and betrayal.
