Nakwon: Last Paradise is heading back into testing next month, and this time the scope is wider. Nexon has confirmed that the Closed Alpha for its multiplayer zombie survival game begins March 11, bringing expanded access, new weapons, new infected types, and deeper progression systems.
The Closed Alpha will run from March 11 at 5:00 PM PT through March 16 at 1:00 AM PT. Sign-ups remain open throughout the test, and players will be selected on a rolling basis. If you participated in the earlier Pre-Alpha, you’re automatically included this time.
Access has also expanded beyond North America and East Asia. Parts of South America are now eligible, and the game supports Spanish (Latin American) and Portuguese (Brazil), widening the test audience.
Nakwon: Last Paradise places you in the urban ruins of Seoul. You scavenge at night, then return to your shelter by day to craft, manage supplies, and prepare for the next run. Other survivors compete for the same limited resources, and trust remains a risk.
Expanded Arsenal and Combat Options
The Closed Alpha build significantly expands the game’s arsenal. Players now have access to more than 60 melee weapons and seven ranged weapons. New firearms include a revolver, pistol, and double-barrel shotgun, adding more direct combat options compared to the earlier test.
On the melee side, the Firefighter Axe, Sledgehammer, One-Handed Axe, and a Round Riot Shield join the lineup. Combat still revolves around noise management. Infected react strongly to sound, so going loud can quickly escalate a situation.
Six New Special Infected
Six new Special Infected types have been added for the Closed Alpha: Runner, Screamer, Gatherer, Armored, Butcher, and Policeman. Each features distinct behavior patterns that demand different tactics.
Their designs reflect who they were prior to infection, influencing how they move and fight. Some rush you, others draw in more infected, and heavily armored variants require a more deliberate approach. Regardless of type, all infected remain highly sensitive to noise, which keeps tension high during scavenging runs.
Day, Night, and Heavy Rain
The environment has also expanded beyond the darker tone of the Pre-Alpha. The map now supports daytime, nighttime, and heavy rain conditions. Screenshots of Jongno South show clear differences between these settings.
Heavy rain affects gameplay directly. It muffles sound, making it harder for both you and the infected to detect movement. That shift changes how you approach encounters and creates more room for calculated risk.
Shelter Growth and Skill Progression
Shelter management has evolved into a fully interactive 3D living space. You can place furniture, upgrade workbenches, and craft tools and gear that support your nightly expeditions. Refrigerators extend the life of consumables, and as your Citizen Rank increases, your shelter grows in function and space.
Character progression also deepens in this build. Players now level up and earn trait points, which can be invested into active and passive skills. Traits directly impact survivability, giving you more control over how you approach scavenging and combat.
The Closed Alpha for Nakwon: Last Paradise begins March 11, offering a larger, more feature-complete look at its take on multiplayer zombie survival in urban South Korea.
