Nacon and Cyanide Studio have unveiled a brand-new story trailer for Styx: Blades of Greed, offering the first in-depth look at the narrative driving the goblin anti-hero’s latest adventure. The stealth-focused action-adventure launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on February 19, 2026.
A Goblin on the Run as Tensions Ignite
Set shortly after the events of Styx: Shards of Darkness, Styx: Blades of Greed sees the infamous goblin fleeing the Dark Elf city of Korrangar after destroying High Priestess Lyssril’s Amber factory. Styx takes to the skies aboard a zeppelin alongside a makeshift crew, setting his sights on Quartz, a volatile and immensely powerful new resource.
Quartz emerges as conflict brews between humans, elves, and orcs, making it the most sought-after prize in a world on the brink of collapse. Styx’s hunt quickly draws the attention of the Inquisition, a merciless human faction intent on wiping out rival races and claiming Quartz for themselves.
Exploring Iserian’s War-Torn Lands
The adventure spans the continent of Iserian, featuring expansive, vertically designed environments steeped in medieval fantasy. Players will infiltrate the floating ruins of Akenash, once the heart of the World Tree and now corrupted by amber-tainted goblins and elves. They’ll also scale The Wall, the towering stronghold of the Human Empire, heavily guarded by elite soldiers and inquisitors.
Further afield lies the Turquoise Dawn, a dense jungle scarred by the brutal war between humans and orcs. Hostile wildlife, aggressive plant life, and exotic creatures turn every infiltration into a high-risk endeavor, reinforcing the series’ emphasis on careful planning and stealth mastery.
Allies, Upgrades, and Player Choice
Throughout his journey, Styx teams up with a cast of fellow outcasts, including Helledryn, Djarak, and Wren. Completing their personal quests rewards players with upgrades that expand Styx’s abilities, tools, and stealth techniques, opening up new infiltration routes and encouraging varied playstyles.
This narrative chapter also lays the groundwork for the Great War and chronicles the rise of the Black Hand, the mercenary group that later plays a pivotal role in Of Orcs and Men, the first game set in this universe.
A Stealth-First Adventure Built on Freedom
Developed by French studio Cyanide, Styx: Blades of Greed is the third entry in the long-running Styx series, which has attracted more than two million players worldwide. Staying true to its roots, the game emphasizes player freedom, creative problem-solving, and vertical level design.
Armed with new tools such as a grappling hook and glider, along with expanded powers, Styx must outwit the Inquisition’s deadly traps and steal Quartz from the shadows. Whether approaching encounters methodically or improvising on the fly, the game encourages experimentation while embracing its goblin protagonist’s trademark greed and cunning.
Styx: Blades of Greed launches on February 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with the story trailer available to watch now.
