Developer Bonte Avond and publisher offbrand games have announced that their upcoming comedy adventure Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime will launch on March 16 for Steam and Nintendo Switch. The announcement arrived alongside a brand-new release date trailer.
Bonte Avond previously developed the cult-favorite Once Upon a Jester, and Everybody Wham Wham, and their newest project continues the studio’s trademark blend of absurd humor, music, and adventure.
A Frog-Obsessed Comedy Adventure
Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime is a whimsical adventure centered around a bizarre tactical battler called Frogtime. Players collect, trade, and train frogs in order to build the ultimate frog battle roster while exploring a strange and playful world.
The story follows Bonnie Bear on a quest to defeat a local bully, though the journey quickly becomes filled with oddball detours. Players might end up performing music, sneaking into a beehive disguised as a bee, or even racing a vampire down a snowy hill.
Throughout the adventure, nearly every conflict is resolved through frog battles, encouraging players to experiment with different amphibian team combinations.
Voice Cast of Popular Creators
The game also features voice acting from several well-known online creators, including LilyPichu, Ironmouse, CDawgVA, and Ludwig Ahgren, along with additional appearances from creators such as Esfand and Bonnie.
Their performances help bring the game’s eccentric characters and offbeat humor to life as players explore its gently absurd setting.
Tactical Battles and Quirky Adventures
While the game leans heavily into comedy, its tactical frog battles serve as the core gameplay loop. Players will gather frogs, customize their teams, and take on increasingly strange challenges as they travel through the world.
The adventure also promises plenty of oddball discoveries along the way, including giant skeletons, frog fashion options, and heartfelt moments about friendship and community.
