Natsume has announced Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea, the next entry in the long-running Harvest Moon franchise. The new farming life simulation will launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC via Steam.
The upcoming game introduces a new setting, characters, and gameplay systems as players work to restore a troubled land.
A Journey Across the Land of Teradea
Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea takes place in the mysterious land of Teradea, where a creeping mist from the Forest of Echoes has begun spreading across the region. Strange events accompany the phenomenon, including sightings of dangerous wolves and rumors of a powerful guardian wolf controlling them.
Players begin their adventure in Bloomfield Village, where they grew up alongside their best friend. What starts as a mission to tame the wolves soon becomes a much larger journey to restore balance across the land.
Throughout the story, players will travel between several villages, each facing its own crisis. The port town of Tidewind is struggling with violent storms, the mining village Quarrytop is plagued by mysterious earthquakes, and the once-thriving cultural hub Maplehill is in decline.
Guided by the Harvest Goddess and aided by new friends, players will work to help these communities recover while uncovering the truth behind the mist.
Farming Life Meets Exploration
While farming remains a central part of the experience, Echoes of Teradea expands the series with new exploration features. Players can jump to hidden areas, climb vines and ladders, and discover resources scattered throughout the world.
The game also introduces an Animal Companion System, allowing pets and farm animals to accompany players on their adventures. Each companion has unique abilities that aid exploration and travel in new environments.
Players must also remain cautious while exploring the wilderness, as wild animals such as wolves, bears, and tigers roam certain areas. If caught, players may lose items and be sent back to their farm.
Romance, Islands, and Community Building
Echoes of Teradea will feature 10 new romanceable characters, including 5 bachelors and 5 bachelorettes that players can build relationships with and eventually marry.
Beyond the mainland, players can obtain nautical charts that lead to remote islands filled with hidden treasures and rare animals not found elsewhere.
Helping villagers and improving communities will reward players with Happilia, a new system tied to assisting townspeople and revitalizing the region.
According to Natsume CEO Hiro Maekawa, the studio plans to reveal more details about the game’s mechanics, the mysterious Guardian Spirits, and upcoming pre-order editions in the months ahead.
