Moonlighter Dev Digital Sun Reveals ReVamp, a Dracula Tower-Defensevania

Digital Sun, known for its indie hits Moonlighter and Cataclismo, has announced its next project: ReVamp, a gothic castle-defense roguelite that puts players in control of Dracula.

Set in a dark fantasy world shaped by tragedy and eternal conflict, the game casts players as the legendary vampire lord, who builds and rebuilds his fortress while defending it against relentless waves of human invaders. ReVamp is currently in development for PC and will launch via Steam.

A Castle-Building War for Eternity

In ReVamp, players must construct Dracula’s castle room by room, turning halls and corridors into deadly traps designed to crush incoming armies. Barbarians, armored knights, and fanatical priests will continually assault the fortress, forcing players to adapt their layout and defenses between each wave.

The castle itself becomes a strategic weapon. With over 100 possible room layouts, players can reshape pathways and design deadly gauntlets that funnel enemies into carefully planned kill zones.

Dracula Takes the Battlefield

While much of the defense relies on castle design and summoned creatures, players are far from passive rulers. When the castle’s defenses begin to fail, Dracula can personally enter the fight, dashing through corridors and unleashing brutal melee attacks and blood-powered magic.

This combination of strategic planning and direct action forms the heart of what the developers call a “Tower-Defensevania”, blending tower defense mechanics with exploration and action combat.

Command an Army of Monsters

Players won’t face the invaders alone. ReVamp features a monstrous roster of more than 40 different minion types, including werewolves, harpies, skeletons, chimeras, wyverns, and wendigos. These creatures patrol the castle’s corridors and help repel enemy forces as they push deeper into Dracula’s domain.

The invading armies are equally varied, with over 20 enemy types ranging from savage raiders to disciplined crusaders and powerful commanders capable of reshaping the battlefield.

Blood-Fueled Progression

Each siege unfolds in a roguelite structure. When night falls and the castle’s defenses collapse, the conflict resets at the next moonrise. However, the blood spilled by defeated enemies fuels long-term progression.

Players can use this resource to unlock new rooms, empower minions, and enhance strategic options with over 100 upgrade effects affecting both castle structures and summoned creatures.

Digital Sun also plans to host community playtests in the coming months, allowing players to help shape the game’s development. Interested players can join the studio’s community channels to stay informed about upcoming test opportunities for ReVamp on Steam.
