Psychedelic FPS Tamashika Launches April 10 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch

Publisher Edglrd and developer quicktequila have announced that their upcoming psychedelic first-person shooter, Tamashika, will launch on April 10, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

The frenetic FPS places players inside a surreal, ever-changing labyrinth filled with enemies, traps, and vibrant psychedelic visuals. A newly released trailer offers another look at the game’s dreamlike aesthetic and fast-paced combat as players dive deeper into its shifting corridors.

A Psychedelic Labyrinth of Combat

In Tamashika, players take control of a rogue spirit navigating a procedurally generated maze of shifting environments. Armed with only a semi-automatic pistol and a tantō blade, players must fight their way through increasingly intense encounters while maintaining focus in the chaotic environment.

The game emphasizes simplicity in its combat design. Rather than juggling complex loadouts or weapon upgrades, players rely on mastering timing, movement, and precision to survive. Mechanics such as blinking, parrying, and shooting become essential tools as players attempt to maintain their rhythm and push further into the labyrinth.

A New Maze Every Day

One of Tamashika’s defining features is its daily-changing labyrinth system. Each day, the game rearranges roughly 300 unique level segments into a new configuration, creating a fresh challenge for players around the world.

Because the maze follows a fixed pattern that reshuffles daily, attentive players can begin to recognize repeating structures, discover hidden paths, and uncover secrets scattered throughout the maze. This design encourages players to return each day to test their skills against a newly generated layout.

Compete for the Perfect Run

Players who master the labyrinth’s rhythm can compete on global leaderboards, racing to complete the daily run as efficiently as possible. The game’s focus on flow and repetition rewards practice, allowing players to gradually perfect their strategy and reaction times.

The developers describe the experience as entering a “flow state,” where careful observation, fast reactions, and mastery of the game’s minimalist combat system combine to create a hypnotic gameplay loop.

A New Publishing Debut

Tamashika also marks Edglrd’s first video game, expanding the company’s creative portfolio into interactive entertainment. Meanwhile, developer Vidhvat shared insights into the project’s multi-year development journey in a recent developer blog post, detailing how the game evolved following its demo at Steam Next Fest in 2025.

Tamashika launches April 10, 2026, and players can wishlist the game now on Steam ahead of its release on PC and consoles.
