Adventure of Samsara Gets New Boss and Quality-of-Life Update

Atari and Ilex Games have released a new post-launch update for Adventure of Samsara, adding fresh content and quality-of-life improvements to the 2D Metroidvania. The update is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and GOG.

The new content will also be playable at gamescom LATAM from April 30 to May 3 at the Ilex Games booth.

New Boss, Secret Rooms, and Bestiary Added

The update introduces a new optional boss called the Buzz Killer Swarm, a fight against three cybernetic insects. Players can also find new secret rooms, hidden paths, invisible walls, and upgrades spread throughout the world.

A new in-game Bestiary has also been added, letting players view enemy entries with images, names, and descriptions.

Combat and Movement Refined

Atari says the update improves combat and movement to make the Solar Champion feel faster and more responsive. Players should now have smoother control when dashing away from enemy attacks or using health potions during combat.

The patch also includes full PC input remapping, clearer map labeling when new areas are found, and a main menu option to replay cutscenes.

Several boss and enemy encounters have been adjusted, including changes to Athalos, Dhar’klaw, and Doctor Gwar’udum. The update also includes fixes for camera behavior, progression blockers, and other balance issues.
