Square Enix debuted a new Final Fantasy VII Revelation trailer during gamescom Opening Night Live, showing off reimagined Weapons, the Summon Typhon, and expanded traversal.
The third and final entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake Series launches in Spring 2027 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC.
The Weapons Return
The trailer focuses on the Weapons, massive guardians that appear as the planet falls into crisis.
Cloud and his allies face them across desert sands, aerial battles, and underwater encounters while Sephiroth moves closer to godhood and Meteor threatens total destruction.
Some Weapons will also appear as ultra-challenging endgame fights, paying tribute to their role as late-game threats in the original Final Fantasy VII.
Typhon and FITS Debut
The trailer also reveals the Summon Typhon.
Square Enix also showed Cloud and Tifa in their Warrior and Black Mage FITS. The new FITS system gives characters outfits tied to new abilities and stronger roles inspired by classic Final Fantasy jobs.
Highwind Opens the Planet
Final Fantasy VII Revelation lets players travel across the planet using the Highwind airship.
Players can drop from the air by parachute, move from sky to land, ride Chocobos, and use tools like a grappling hook. With the party facing several conflicts at once, players can choose where to go, who to help, and in what order.
Save Data Bonuses Confirmed
Players with save data from earlier entries can unlock bonus Summon Materia in Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade save data grants Chocobo & Moogle, while Final Fantasy VII Rebirth save data grants Phoenix.
