Tanuki: Pon’s Summer Launches November 10, Adds PlayStation and Switch 2

Tanuki: Pon’s Summer launches November 10 on PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S. Publisher Critical Reflex and developer Denkiworks announced the date during Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase, confirming the PlayStation and Switch 2 versions for the first time.

The BMX delivery adventure will also be available through Xbox Game Pass on PC and consoles at launch. Pre-orders are open on Xbox and the Nintendo eShop for $19.99.

Deliver Packages and Pull Off BMX Tricks

You play as Pon, a mail-delivery tanuki trying to restore the Great Tanuki Shrine before an end-of-summer festival. His work takes him around a fictional Japanese island, delivering letters and packages while getting to know its residents.

Deliveries require some planning, with packages varying in size, weight, and shape. Between stops, Pon can launch off ramps, grind rails, and string together tricks while searching for alternate routes. More than 100 BMX challenges give you reasons to practice those landings.

Pon can also wear crossover hats inspired by Hollow Knight: Silksong, PEAK, Shovel Knight, and other games.

Make Friends and Rebuild the Shrine

As Pon builds friendships with the townsfolk, they’ll invite him to join their summer activities. These include making sushi, playing baseball, and stepping into a sumo ring.

Deliveries and activities provide money and items for restoring the shrine. You can build, upgrade, and decorate it, choosing details as you prepare a gathering place for the Great Tanuki Festival. Helping the island’s residents feeds directly into that goal, giving Pon’s summer jobs a purpose beyond finishing his delivery route.

Steam Demo Progress Carries Over

A Steam demo is available now, covering the first three in-game days with approximately two to three hours of gameplay. Save progress transfers to the full game at launch.

Nintendo players will also get both versions with one purchase: buying Tanuki: Pon’s Summer on Switch includes the Switch 2 version at no additional charge, and vice versa.

Tanuki: Pon’s Summer arrives November 10, with Game Pass access available from day one.
