1666: Amsterdam Developer Diary #2 Looks at Dutch Golden Age Art

Panache Digital Games will release 1666: Amsterdam Developer Diary #2 on July 14, giving players a closer look at how Dutch Golden Age art shaped the upcoming story-led action-adventure.

The new episode focuses on the team’s visual approach under creative director Patrice Désilets, with a look at 17th-century Dutch art, historical research, and the process of turning painted references into playable spaces.

Developer Diary #2 breaks down how Panache Digital Games studied the Dutch Golden Age to build the look of 1666: Amsterdam.

The episode covers the team’s references, research methods, and approach to adapting historical artwork across the game’s different timelines. It also shows how the studio translated that art direction into interactive environments.
