Gods With Badges puts police power and accountability at the center of a narrative tactics game. Strange Scaffold, the studio behind I Am Your Beast and Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator, announced the project during the Triple-i Initiative showcase. It is coming to PC via Steam in 2027.
The game reinterprets Hard Justice, a previously unrealized project from strategy developer Artificer, using its foundations and development materials.
Patrol Scarhelm as a Disgraced Officer
You play as Harrow McClellan, a disgraced police officer transferred back to her original post. The scandal that drove her away has become notorious among other officers, leaving you to decide how she responds to that reputation.
Patrols take place across open hubs in Scarhelm, a dystopian future city. You’ll investigate complaints, seize contraband, and search back alleys for evidence.
Dialogue, arrests, and uses of force affect Harrow’s relationships with fellow officers, residents, and the institutions around her. The anthology campaign examines how those decisions interact with the authority and protection her position provides.
Bodycam Choices Change Your Options
Escalating encounters move into isometric turn-based combat, with cover mechanics, hostage rescues, and customizable officer loadouts.
You’ll decide how much force to use, including choosing between killing suspects and risking your position to secure an arrest.
Harrow can also temporarily disable her body camera. Doing so opens additional tactical and dialogue options while removing the public record of what follows—a mechanic that ties combat choices directly to the game’s questions about accountability.
Artificer’s Canceled Project Gets a New Interpretation
Gods With Badges is the latest release developed through Strange Scaffold’s Project Share initiative, which encourages studios to exchange technology and explore ways to make development sustainable.
The initiative previously led to Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 1: Re-Raptored. For this project, Strange Scaffold is reshaping Artificer’s canceled game around its own narrative and creative approach.
Studio head Xalavier Nelson Jr. described Gods With Badges as one of Strange Scaffold’s most ambitious projects and thanked Artificer’s developers for trusting the team with their work.
The game also features a noir soundtrack by Kris Kirk, whose credits include Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator.
