Ubisoft Montreal’s next Splinter Cell title, Conviction, has officially been delayed until Ubisoft’s 2009-2010 fiscal year.
The stealth action PC and Xbox 360 game is now expected to release between April 1, 2009 and March 30, 2010, instead of its previous estimated release between January 1 to March 30, 2009. An interesting comment Ubisoft made is that it referred to Splinter Cell only during the announcement, suggesting the Conviction subtitle has been removed.
Originally slated for a holiday 2007 release, Ubisoft has given no reasoning for their latest postponement of their title, but only remarked that the delay would help “bolster the lineup for fiscal 2009-10.”
