Ratatan Release Date Window Set for Rhythm Game From Patapon Creators

Game Source Entertainment has revealed the release date window for Ratatan — the upcoming title from the creators of the iconic Patapon series.

The studio revealed that the title will be released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2025. No specific release date has been given at this time, leaving next year as the most specific window we have. The game supports up to four players with its online co-op gameplay, meaning players can tackle Ratatan together and take on enemies using rhythmic sequences with roguelike elements.

What is Ratatan?

Ratatan is a Rhythmic Roguelike Action Game, developed in collaboration between Hiroyuki Kotani, the producer of the renowned series Patapon, released on PSP in 2007, and Tokyo Virtual Theory (TVT),” reads the game’s official description. “Players act as the Ratatan, using magical instruments to deliver different commands to the armies of Cobun to attack the enemies.

“In addition to attack and defence rhythmic sequences, there are also actions that allow the Ratatan to move freely, with unique skills for each character, further deepening the musicality of the game. Players will enter “fever mode” when they accurately follow the rhythm sequences. In fever mode, the background music changes interactively, and characters perform various actions.”
