A Horror Story Set in 1960s Japan
Unlike past entries in the franchise, Silent Hill f shifts away from its usual fog-covered town and transports players to Ebisugaoka, a seemingly peaceful Japanese mountain village. But when Shimizu Hinako, a teenage girl living an ordinary life, suddenly finds herself trapped in a deserted version of her hometown, a slow-building nightmare unfolds.
A mysterious fog descends, strange lifeforms emerge, and the lines between beauty and horror blur as players uncover the dark secrets hidden beneath Ebisugaoka’s quiet exterior. Throughout the game, Hinako must navigate haunting Otherworld transformations, intricate puzzles, and disturbing creatures, all while making impossible choices that shape her fate.
A Visionary Horror Experience from Ryukishi07
Horror fans will immediately recognize the name Ryukishi07, the mind behind Higurashi When They Cry and Umineko When They Cry. His signature blend of psychological horror, tragedy, and societal themes makes Silent Hill f one of the most anticipated entries in the series.
“To me, the Silent Hill series is more than just a collection of stories, it’s a medium; an amazing, phenomenal way of exploring and experiencing a person’s heart and mind. It’s my hope that players will appreciate it in the same way.” – Ryukishi07
Silent Hill’s Signature Atmosphere, Reinvented
Alongside Ryukishi07, illustrator and monster designer kera has worked to create horrifying new creature designs inspired by Silent Hill 2, bringing grotesque beauty to the game’s world. Meanwhile, the game’s dual composers—Silent Hill veteran Akira Yamaoka and renowned musician Kensuke Inage—craft an unsettling, atmospheric soundtrack that separates the game’s Fog World and Otherworld into two distinct audio nightmares.
