Tomb Raider Returns In A Dark Narrative

So you’re a young Lara Croft eager, anxious, and a tad naive to explore the world around you, when suddenly tragedy strikes your expedition and you’re left stranded on an island with little resources to survive. Square Enix hopes the Crystal Dynamics reboot of Tomb Raider will illustrate the transformation of a “frightened young woman” to a “hardened survivor.”

The CG trailer released today showcases just that, a darker, scarier tone for the franchise’s redux. The video certainly shows off Lara’s inexperience but how well will it translate into gameplay? Hopefully, the developers can craft the progression of a young explorer into the Lara Croft we all know and remember.
