SB’s Idea Machine: What’s Next In the Quest to Catch’em All?

Seeing that Pokemon Platinum commercial earlier today–when the 5th gen comes, what are we going to see? There’s the standards–new region to explore, new Pokemon to catch, new Gym Leaders to challenge, new evil team to stop, and new characters to love (or hate) to name a few.

But here’s what else I think may happen:

In The Dark Colors

With the exception of Gen 2, most of the other games have been some derivative of red and blue (Diamond was pale blue, Pearl pale red) so the logical next step would be some kind of dark colors. Pokemon Maroon and Pokemon Navy, anyone?

Crazy Careers

You know the dancing part of the Super Contests? Why not expand that into an Idol career? Or create some events involving breeding? (although if that turned out to be true, at least Brock would be of productive use on the show) Or get the humans involved in some MD-like exploration?

Triple the Battle, Triple the Fun!

R/S/E introduced 2 on 2 bouts…so why not take the next step to 3 on 3 battles for a whole new challenge? Or have people to help you and fight with you like a standard RPG?

I guess all I can do is dream again…
