With all that news on it and how other games were publicized far more, I must say, I overlooked this title – which I regret now. I seem to be getting just about every game except this one, the one I wanted right after LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2.
So Hiroshi Matsuyama the developer at CyberConnect2 is here to tell us that Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm‘s trailers and videos were all 100% real-time and not pre-rendered. Bravo CyberConnect2. Game comes out NEXT WEEK. I’m quite thrilled.
In “Free Battle Mode” you can choose any of the 25 available characters to be your main fighting character along with two companions that come in and help you for a small amount of time. You can fight on walls, on water and on land, and the possibility of choosing anyone as your character and any two others as your back-up is great.
In “Ultimate Ninja Mode” Naruto gets to explore the Hidden Leaf Village and allows you to go on 101 missions, and for simply not finding a better way to phrase this:
Here, you can acquire new Jutsu moves, purchase items, and even chow down on a bowl of noodles at the Ichiraku Ramen shop! The game’s storyline covers episodes 1-135 of the Naruto animated series, so it’s incredibly comprehensive. In addition to the head-to-head battles, you’ll encounter huge boss battles, races through the forest and tree-climbing battles in this mode.
What’s also great is that there will be free downloadable content within the year that we’ll receive to make the experience that much more enjoyable!
By popular demand, the game ships with both the Japanese and English voices with the original voice actors lending their voices for the job, can’t wait to play the game in Japanese with English subtitles. I honestly don’t think many animes can ever have good English DUB’s, some characters end up being great, but some suck. Here’s to hoping for subtitles.
Next time Matsuyama will delve into the production of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm. While you’re waiting, there’s a Demo on the PS Store.
