Once again, the wonderful people over at Capcom have given us lots of juicy information on an upcoming release. However, this may be of greater interest to you than the previous Capcom-related news.
The game, which will be released on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on February 17th 2009 in North America, and February 20th 2009 in Europe, will also have a super-limited-collectors-edition version of the game coming out on the same dates which costs an eyebrow-raising $79.99. Don’t worry though, it’s not just a pretty steelbook case and a ‘Making Of’ DVD. Here is a list of the pretty awesome stuff you will receive for that extra $20:
1. The game (duh)
2. A limited-edition (not sold ANYWHERE else) figurine – Ryu in the PS3 box, C. Viper hotness in the 360 flavour. Decisions, decisions…
3. Street Fighter IV: The Ties That Bind: a 65 minute anime movie, created by Studio 4C, that sets up the story of SFIV by explaining events post-SFII. BluRay disc in the PS3 box! The Xbox version is a 360 game disc that outputs the movie at 720P, *not a DVD*.
4. A mini-strategy guide from Prima, written by the same people doing the full-on guide, in case you don’t know hoe to Dragon Punch people.
5. CD soundtrack of the stage themes.
…Plus some secret additional downloadable content that has not yet been announced. All this wrapped up nicely in a box that features Ikeno-san’s instant classic illustration of Ryu, with images of the other characters on the sides.
Now to me, that sounds like some pretty good stuff, and I’m certainly interested in owning it, but here is the annoying part for all of the English people…this exact same bundle is selling for £69.99. Which works out at around $130-$140. Either way, it’s still a pretty good bundle, and until it comes out, why not just stare at this pretty picture of it?
