While on my online travels today, earthbounding notified me of some breaking news…
What we learn:
–Aonuma has said he wants to make New Zelda Wii’s world vast and realistic. He then said that Twilight Princess would be the basis for some improvements.
–In Aonuma’s eyes, Twilight Princess failed in the overworld department, and wants to fix that in New Zelda Wii
–The game’s grapical style will be realistic as well, featuring a “more mature Adult Link”
–New Zelda Wii is said to be setting a new bar for the series, which again begs the question: Could this be the best Zelda game ever?
–The rumors of swordless Link have been officially debunked, since Wii Motion Plus for the sword has been confirmed. However, this leaves Link a righty instead of his traditional left handed–Nintendo will likely remedy this by allowing users to set their preferred hand.
–Aonuma-san has also floated the idea of a second Link’s Crossbow Training–one that could have Wifi play!
–While showing such an idea at E3 this year would be a disaster, the project is not gone completely–it could show up as a mini-game.
–New Zelda Wii will be released this year! According to Game Informer, they meantioned “six games releasing this year that will make your blood boil in anticipation”–one of them is likely New Zelda Wii
–Iwata has confirmed that New Zelda Wii is coming this year, and barring any major delays, the game releases October 2010.
–He also revealed that the DS’ successor is being made–New Handheld will have high def graphics and motion control.
–It is not known at this time if New Zelda Wii will have a single worldwide release–but it is possible it will be released earlier in Japan, or the 2010 release date only applies to Japan. These questions and more will be answered at E3 this year.
Stay tuned for more info as I find it.
Happy gaming,
