Street Fighter X Tekken receives Release date, Special Edition, and Gems Explained.

At their appearance this year at New York Comic Con, Capcom sheds more light on its newest battle system addition: The Gems. Gems are crystals that players can equip onto their character to provide buffs to things such as strength, speed, and other interesting modifications that will inevitably add a new layer of depth to the overall experience. Ono had mentioned in the past that he would have liked to see development in the area of customizing fighters. This new game mechanic seems to be the first step towards that.

Ono-san also announced the Special Edition of Street Fighter X Tekken for North America, which includes:

– Street Fighter X Tekken game
– Build-It-Yourself Arcade Cabinet Bank (approximately 5”H)
– Exclusive Prequel Comic Book by UDON
– 36 Gems: Includes All Pre-Order Packs Plus An Exclusive Pack
– Pre-Order Bonus: Nine Exclusive Gems Only Available For Pre-Ordering Special Edition
– Total of 45 Gems When You Pre-Order

Street Fighter X Tekken will be hitting shelves on March 6 in North America and March 9 in Europe, and fans will be able to grab special packs of Gems for pre-ordering at various retailers.

Thanks, Gematsu, for the video!
