E3 2015: Starbreeze Studios Unveils StarVR

Starbreeze Studios is dipping its hand in the virtual reality market with StarVR, a headset with a 5k display and natural panoramic view.

Unveiled last night at Overkill’s The Walking Dead Pre-E3 party, the company has partnered with InfinitEye for the VR technology and had been working on its development since 2013. The StarVR headset now sports a 210 degree field of view and dual 5.5″ quad HD panel making it possible to for players to not only move their head but their eyes without breaking the VR experience.

Starbreeze followed up with a quick cut of StarVR and its use with The Walking Dead, showcasing head and motion trackers in tandem with a prototype gun developed by TrinityVR.

No timeline on a release date for StarVR, presumably aligning with The Walking Dead video game release.
