If you play games for any extended duration you already know how draining and exhausting it can be. Making sure you don’t exacerbate things by having the right equipment is an important step, especially for marathon sessions.

Until January of 2018 I hadn’t spent an extended time in any kind of specialty chair. My digital nomadic lifestyle has had me writing, editing and gaming from a variety of locations and seats, far from the mandatory lumbar support of an office life. In January during the multi-day marathon that is GenerOZity I took my first sit in a chair designed for comfort, and designed for gamers and learned why they are so popular and that those tiny little pillows actually bring a big comfort game.

Enter the Champion Series gaming chairs from Ewinracing:

Chair Specs:

  • Four Direction Adjustable Armrests
  • High Adjustment via 120mm class-4 gas lift (up to 330lbs)
  • Lever Operated Back Recliner (85-155 degrees of adjustment)
  • Tilt lock and tilt control lever
  • Steel frame seat
  • High Density memory foam padding
  • Aluminum five-star base
  • Variety of color customization options

While the box might be massive, it does contain everything required to assemble the chair, including allen wrenches for the screws and even some white gloves to keep everything clean, and your hands injury free during the process. The instructions included are a bit generic, but the way all Ewinracing chairs are designed the building process is nearly identical between models. The total time from sliding the box inside, to first sit in the chair was just over 30 minutes, and I was going at a leisurely pace after being distracted by the white gloves included.

Sitting in the finished chair is its own reward for completing the assembly. The MonsterVine colored seat cover is cool to the touch and the padding feels like a warm hug from an old friend.

The different ways the Champion Series Gaming Chair adjust is a little intimidating, specifically the arm rests and the pillow placement. I wish Ewinracing would have included some information on different reasons why sliding the arm rests out a few inches could be better; or what my optimal seat back angle and height should be for an extended marathon, but it probably all just depends on my own preference.

I’ve been accustomed to a lot of static seats for my gaming and office work over the past few years. Getting used to customization, paired with back and neck support is going to take some time, but I am happy to put in the work. I actually look forward to getting to sit down at my desk, because I know I won’t be sitting on a bench, hunched over a keyboard.

The Good:

Comfortable with a variety of different configurations to account for different preferences.

Easy to assemble (took me 30 min) and packed in with everything you need.

The parts feel like they are quality, an important characteristic for the price of the chair.

A very well built and sturdy design that doesn’t feel like it is going to break or fall over.

Full body support with comfort that endures hours of sitting.

The Bad:

Logos everywhere clash with the rest of the minimalistic, elegant design.

A steep, albeit competitive price, which is difficult to ignore for a product you can’t try before you buy.

The Final Word
If you do any kind of sitting for prolonged periods of time, your body deserves the comfort of a quality chair. The solid built frame with a premium feeling padding and cover make the champion series gaming chairs from Ewinracing a strong choice. The subtle color accents would be just my style if it wasn’t for the loud logo placement at every corner, which feels like design took the back seat to marketing. Time will tell how I configure the height, armrests, pillows and angle to optimize my performance and comfort, but I don’t think I will get tired of sitting anytime soon.
