“At the end of the day Arkham Knight is still a fantastic game itself, but in hindsight it drops the ball incredibly hard to what’s supposed to be the grand finale of this series that started back in 2009 with Arkham Asylum.” -Diego Escala
“I love me some Dark Souls, but Bloodborne felt like it was made exactly for me. The faster, more aggressive approach to combat, and the horror angle that transitioned from Castlevania vibes of werewolves and monsters to pure cosmic horror Lovecraft.” – Diego Escala
“The Playstation Presents footage from Friday’s keynote piqued my interest, and my weakness for detective stories and androids pushed me to finally give the game a look, and honestly, I’m glad I did.” – Spencer Legacy
“An imperfect sequel but still an enjoyable title in a universe I love. Fallout 4 finally allowed me to stop making excuses for downright cruddy graphics because of its RPG roots. Sadly, much of what made Fallout great was lost due to the dumbing-down of the RPG elements and an oversaturation of tank-like power armor and its batteries. That said, Fallout 4 is still an intriguing story in the Fallout universe with solid shooting and a ton of side content to kill lots of time with.” – Michael Elliot
“Final Fantasy XV is a game full of beauty, weight, and most of all, fantastic characters. The gameplay is fun and fluent, the visuals and sound are epic, and the characters and story are deep and moving. While certain storylines need to be better fleshed out, Final Fantasy XV still excels at the top of its genre, making it well worth the wait.” – Spencer Legacy
“God of War is a masterpiece in storytelling and gameplay. The emotional tale of Kratos and Atreus is one that will resonate with players for years to come, largely thanks to just how well it’s told. God of War manages to keep the soul of the franchise intact while drastically changing its tone to a grounded story about father and son, making God of War one of the greatest achievements of this console generation.” – Spencer Legacy
“Second Son is a fantastic game that improves upon its predecessor in almost every way but a weak story, repetitive side missions, and an even weaker cast of side characters keep it from being something truly amazing.” – Diego Escala
“Monster Hunter World is one of the most exciting and enjoyable multiplayer experiences of the generation. The wonky faces and problematic matchmaking can’t take away from the rewarding gameplay and seemingly endless wealth of content, which is all enhanced when friends are added to the mix.” – Spencer Legacy
“Persona 5 is the series’ addictive formula refined to a nearly perfect form.” – Diego Escala
“I think if you like Ratchet and Clank, you like platformers, and you like a $40 game as opposed to a $60 game, this is the one to get.” -William Saw
“Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a wildly enjoyable title that is guaranteed to scare all but the most heartless players. Strategic combat and inventory space, metroidvania style map movement, engaging puzzles and an engrossing story make this one of my favorite titles already. Aside from minimal technical issues and a single loose story thread the game is a truly great achievement.” – Michael Elliot
“The Last Guardian is full of ups and downs in its narrative and gameplay. Few games wield the emotional weight of The Last Guardian, thanks to the wonderful feeling of connection between the boy and Trico. The execution of its gameplay and the majority of its puzzles are problematic, which is an unfortunate contrast to the game’s moving story.” – Spencer Legacy
“With a gripping and intense story, haunting atmosphere, and brutal but satisfying gameplay, it’s the perfect game to buy someone who likes serious stories in their games.” – Spencer Legacy
“I was blown away by the serious and bittersweet tone that Uncharted 4 expertly wove into its established world. Like his series, Nathan Drake has been one of my favourite characters since I first played as the snarky thief with a heart of gold, so seeing him grow as a person and struggle with deciding between a life of adventure and a more calm, happier life with Elena hit me hard. Throw in the most satisfying gunplay yet and some absolutely gorgeous locales, and you have the best Uncharted, and one of the best games of this generation.” – Spencer Legacy
“Until Dawn takes tropes from classical horror games and combines them in a beautiful adventure game. Unlike adventure games from Telltale or Quantic Dreams, the team over at Supermassive Games designed the choices and consequences of Until Dawn to be meaningful and impactful; every character can die or every character can be saved, and the story reacts and changes accordingly.” – Austin Adamson
