The Xbox Games Showcase included the long-awaited look at Starfield, the upcoming new game from Bethesda Game Studios, followed by an extended look at the game in a dedicated Starfield Direct afterwards. Set in the year 2330, Starfield sends you on an adventure as part of Constellation, a group of space explorers seeking artifacts throughout the galaxy.
You will explore various planets, pilot and customize a ship, build outposts, and fight threats in this upcoming RPG. The Starfield Direct gives a closer look at many of the game’s systems, including character creation, skills, ships, space flight and combat, and exploration.
Bethesda also revealed two special editions that will be available for Starfield, the Constellation Edition and the Premium Edition, with the following information revealed.
The Constellation Edition includes:
- Starfield Base Game
- Shattered Space Story Expansion (upon release)

Finally, Bethesda also revealed a limited edition Starfield themed Xbox controller and headset. Both are available to purchase now from Xbox.
Starfield will be released on September 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
