Fallout 76: Burning Springs Adds The Ghoul, Bounty Hunting, and New Ohio Region

Fallout 76’s biggest update since 2020 has arrived. Bethesda has officially launched Burning Springs, a massive free expansion that adds a scorched new region, new factions, new gameplay systems, and the long-awaited debut of The Ghoul, voiced by actor Walton Goggins and inspired by his version of the character in the Fallout TV series.

The update is now available for all players on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, with access also included with Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra.

Meet The Ghoul and Take On New Bounties

The standout feature of Burning Springs is the new Bounty Hunting system, hosted by The Ghoul himself. Players can find him at The Last Resort in Highway Town, where he serves as the mission-giver for an endless rotation of contract hunts.

Two mission types keep the system active:

  • Grunt Hunt – standard contracts with reliable rewards
  • Head Hunt – tougher targets with higher risks and payouts

Players can check in with The Ghoul frequently as new contracts refresh regularly, making bounty hunting a central part of the update’s progression loop.

Explore Post-Nuclear Ohio in Fallout 76’s Largest Update in Years

Burning Springs transports players to a new scorched region in post-nuclear Ohio, filled with:

  • New factions and quest chains
  • New public events and workshops
  • New weapons, armor, and gear
  • Unique wildlife, including the Rad Hog, which can even be tamed as a C.A.M.P. Pet

One of the key figures players will encounter is The Rust King, an unusually intelligent Super Mutant who offers repeatable work throughout the biome.

This marks the most content-rich region added to Fallout 76 since the game’s Wastelanders expansion.
