Sonic made a surprise appearance at Summer Game Fest with the announcement of Sonic Superstars, an all-new 2D high-speed Sonic the Hedgehog game. Set in the North Star Islands, this new entry sees Sonic and his friends embarking on a new adventure that pits them against Dr. Eggman’s latest plot.
Play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose and use the power of the Chaos Emeralds to unlock new abilities known as Emerald Powers that allow you to clone yourself, climb waterfalls, and more. In addition to the single-player gameplay, local 4-player co-op is also supported.
Sonic Superstars will be out both digitally and physically in fall 2023 for $59.99 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
