Persona 3 Reload Reveals New Trailer and Combat Details

Atlus has released a new TGS trailer for Persona 3 Reload, the upcoming remake of Persona 3. This trailer introduces Strega, a group that uses the Dark Hour for the purpose of getting revenge on others, and also provides another look at this remake’s revamped gameplay.

Persona 3 Reload features a turn-based combat system similar to that in the original game, but enhanced by new features. Take direct control of each character in combat and use the Assist feature to automatically target an enemy with the affinity it’s weak to. By hitting an enemy’s weakness, you’ll knock it down and earn a 1 More, which lets you attack a second time. Now you’ll also be able to use Shift, a new mechanic similar to the Baton Pass in Persona 5, allowing you to pass your 1 More attack to another character.  If all enemies are knocked down, you’ll perform a powerful All-Out Attack.

Finally, your actions in combat now charge a special Theurgy meter, which lets you unleash a powerful new skill. Each character has different actions that charge their Theurgy meter more effectively.

Another new feature in Persona 3 Reload are Link Episodes. While not every character has a Social Link, additional character stories can be explored through these new special episodes. They’ll let you strengthen your bonds with the other characters, even receiving ally upgrades and new Persona fusions in return.

In addition to these new scenes with your allies, there will also be new scenes featuring the members of Strega, so that you can learn even more about these characters.

Persona 3 Reload will be out on February 2, 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. Pre-orders will also include a BGM set containing several tracks from Persona 4 Golden.
