SaGa Emerald Beyond Announced, Sets April 25 Release Date

The next entry in the SaGa series was announced at Square Enix’s SaGa Glimmerfest 2023 34th Anniversary LiveStream today.

SaGa Emerald Beyond will launch on April 25, 2024 as a digital release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and iOS and Android devices.

During the livestream, the developers discussed two of SaGa Emerald’s newest characters: Tsunanori Mido and Ameya Aisling who will be a key part of the game’s story.

A key art of the full cast of protagonists was also unveiled along with new in-game screenshots showcasing battles and abilities. The SaGa series was created by game developer Akitoshi Kawazu who previously worked on the first two Final Fantasy video games. Although sharing its roots with Final Fantasy, the SaGa games are standalone games with nonlinear storytelling, player progression, and exploration making it a very unique JRPG experience.
