Dragon Quest 3 Remake Platforms Confirmed, Teaser Video Revealed

Square Enix has revealed that the upcoming Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake will be released on several consoles when it launches down the line.

On Twitter, the company celebrated Dragon Quest Day — May 27, in celebration of the first game’s 1986 release on said day — by debuting a new Dragon Quest III remake teaser video. The short clip features the emblem of Dragon Quest III protagonist Erdrick/Loto appearing after being traced in light. The phrase “The Legacy Begins” then appears, followed by the logos of the consoles the upcoming title will be released on.

Given we had no information in regards to which consoles the game would launch on prior to today’s post, it’s a pleasant surprise to see that the HD-2D remake will be coming to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. No release date or window has been announced at this time.

The highly anticipated remake was first announced on Dragon Quest Day three years ago, back in 2021. Outside of the announcement trailer and news, little information on the title was given in the following years, making this announcement an exciting surprise for fans.
