The long-awaited Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, first announced in May 2021, received a new trailer at the Nintendo Direct today. With new HD-2D graphics and modernized features, this is a full remake of the classic RPG coming out for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on November 14.
Both digital and physical preorders are up, along with a Collector’s Edition. All preorders will include a Trouble-Free Travel Kit that provides the player with in-game items.
In addition to the remake the trailer also included a welcome surprise: Dragon Quest I and Dragon Quest II are also being remade in the HD-2D style, so that the full Erdrick Trilogy will be available. They are planned for 2025. Since Dragon Quest III is a prequel to the first two games, it seems they expect new players to have a good experience even if they begin with the third game’s remake when it launches in November.
