Get ready to blast through gaming hell—Angry Video Game Nerd 8-Bit has dropped its Steam Next Fest demo, giving fans a taste of retro action, ridiculous enemies, and classic AVGN humor. Developed by Programancer (Prison City, The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest) and published by Retroware, the game pays tribute to 8-bit side-scrollers with Mega Man-inspired gameplay and plenty of nerdy chaos.
What’s in the Demo?
The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-Bit demo gives players two full levels to rage through:
- Graveyard Stage – A horror-themed nightmare packed with endoskeletons, Frankenstein’s monsters, and disembodied hands.
- Soda Factory Stage – Dodge boiling soda, deadly machinery, and classic AVGN enemies as you platform through this fizzy industrial hellhole.
Armed with his trusty NES Zapper, the Nerd blasts through waves of bizarre enemies, dodges precision platforming hazards, and takes on massive boss fights inspired by AVGN lore. The game’s pixelated visuals and chiptune soundtrack complete the authentic 8-bit experience.
